DEPARTING NORTH PLATTE, NE We made it just 30 miles from North Platte and had an air suspension failure. Needless to say, this was the great big hit in the head I needed to decide to have the GMC shipped to Seattle on a Flat Bed Truck. Optimism sometimes leaves us quite exposed, but this time I did take the hint. Sylvia and I had a wonderful driving trip to North Platte and return in the Honda CRV. The weather was turning bad, so we just headed northwest and were home in three days. It was just too much to think that a 26 year old motorhome could drive across country before it was restored. There are just too many things that can go wrong. In retrospect, it would have been much better to have the GMC shipped from Little Rock last July. Anyway, we are safe and well and looking forward to getting at the restoration project. I have inserted a photograph of the new Paint Job here. I think it looks great.
SELLING THE MONACO We have decided to take our winter trip in the Monaco with a for sale sign in the window. As we travel to Indio Western Region FMCA Rally, Quartzite, Lake Havasu City, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Gatos etc. we will advertise in the local papers. If someone comes up with a good offer, we will just load personal stuff in the Honda and stay with friends, relatives and in Motels to finish our winter trip.
We will have a short update sometime before Christmas. Bob.
