RV TRAVEL DESTINATIONS
- A HOME TOWN BALLOON FESTIVAL: Guest author Don tells of a wonderful discovery in far northern California. Here's one of those very special events you'll want to check out for yourself!
- SO, YOU WANT TO VISIT THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS! We've overlooked doing an "insider's view" of visiting the very place we happen to live -- but where other RVers frequently would like to visit. Here we provide some basic guidance and special tips for visiting our beatiful San Juan Islands.
- SOME OPTIONS FOR VISITING VICTORIA: As a parallel piece on our suggestions for visiting our own San Juan Islands, this sequel explores another "must see" trip also in our back yard -- the very British city of Victoria, just across the waters from us on Vancouver Island.
- AN RVer's GUIDE TO CALIFORNIA: Joan Taylor offers a carefully researched article on both how to visit California by RV, and what to see while you're there. If you have plans for travel to the Golden State, you'll surely want to study this one carefully.
- RVing THE YUCATAN: David Eidell, author of our series on RVing in Mexico, offers up a unique and comprehensive article discussing all aspects of an unusual RV adventure -- to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Even if you don't plan to make this trip, you'll find this fascinating reading.
- DESTINATION: LIVINGSTON, TEXAS: The legal "home" to a growing number of RVers, this is not just an RV park. RVers Online has a look at the inside of the park, and more particularly the philosophy which it represent.
- EXPLORERS TO COWBOYS: GREAT FALLS, MONTANA For those who like to follow the Lewis and Clark Trail, Joan Taylor outlines one of the major modern day landmarks in Great Falls. And while there, she takes us to the Charilie Russell Museum as well. A must read for those headed to the Big Sky country.
- A PILOT'S VIEW OF THE GREAT NORTHWEST: Sometimes it's fun to see how other visitors to some of our favorite RVing areas do things. This time a friend of many years, Jim Demsey, took a trip in his private aircraft, visiting the Pacific Northwest from his home base in Bakersfield, CA. When he did a writeup on his travels, we asked to publish a copy here so our RVer friends could see what a pilot's travel adventure is like.
- DISCOVERY COAST PASSAGE: Here's a true RV adventure, by land and sea, into what is one of the "last frontiers" in North America. When the BC ferry system opened the route from Port Hardy, on Vancouver Island, BC, to Bella Coola on the mainland, one of the greatest RV circle tours in the world was created. Here's our report on this fabulous trip.
- RVing THE BAJA: RVers Online could not find a good online source for RV travel in Baja California -- so it created its own. Here's a complete do-it-yourself guide to RV travel in this wonderfully different part of Mexico. We also append a number of "Tips", many of which we think would be relevent to travel in any part of Mexico. [Note: Be sure to see David Eidell's separate mini series on RVing in Mexico]
- POSTCARD FROM PORT TOWNSEND: One of Stephanie's postcard's provides some useful information about a wonderful RV destination descovery. Put Fort Worden on your list of "must see" places!
- DESTINATION: SAN JUAN ISLANDS: Inspired by an inquiry from some friends, we realized that we've never written about how RVers can plan a trip to our own part of the country. Check this one out when you'll be coming our way!
- SOUTH OF THE BORDER (But NOT down Mexico Way). Here's a rare RV "find" south of a different border...
- DESTINATION EAST -- AND BEYOND. (Part I) Don't bother to start this series unless you have a little extra time, and can tolerate an article that will be posted in 4 installments. It's a tale about two Westerners who venture East in their RV, expressing their differing views both in prose and poetry as they go. Part I -- on leaving the West...
- DESTINATION EAST -- AND BEYOND (Part II) The journey continues, as does the battle of rhymes. This part takes us from the eastern slopes of the Rockies to Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
- DESTINATION EAST -- AND BEYOND (Part III) One of us is really sensing a distance from the West as we meander into the back woods of Vermont and New Hampshire.
- DESTINATION EAST -- AND BEYOND (Part IV) We've made it "East" -- and now the "Beyond". This carries us into the wonderous Maritime Provices. Here's where we finally turn the corner and chase the sun back West...and home.
- EXPLORING NOOTKA SOUND VIA MAIL BOAT: Here's an exciting side trip we'd recommend to anyone traveling through British Columbia's Vancouver Island. One of the last of the great bargains in exciting, yet comfortable, side trips.
- EARLY MAY IN SOUTHERN UTAH: A diary of a Springtime trip to some of the highest elevations we've traveled by RV -- starting from our cabin in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains, and exploring the land of Bryce and Zion.
- THE ALASKA FERRY: Many RVers will want to explore taking their rigs to or from Alaska on the Alaska ferry. There's much to know about what to consider when booking on this wonderful marine highway, which is truly one of the last great bargains. Here our our travel notes from this beautiful voyage, together with what we learned from some shore time in Sitka.
- NORTHERN WASHINGTON STATE: Take an RV journey with us over the North Cascades Highway, and into some of the fine RVing territories of Northern Washington State...
