Some may find it unusual to include a note here about an RV dealership. However our personal experience in purchasing, and subsequently servicing a new Host camper unit through Lassen RV has been sufficiently positive to deserve comment here.
Once we had decided upon the brand we wanted to purchase, we began our search for a dealer. Our personal style of making a purchase of this type is to find a dealership with which we could comfortably negotiate a fair price, and which was capable of providing good after-sale support. As it turned out, Lassen was not the first dealer we talked to. While the first dealer seemed qualified to provide adequate service support, we could not persuade them to provide us with a firm, non-negotiable bid. Instead, they insisted that we tell them what we would be willing to pay for a new unit. Since that approach would inevitably lead to the exact type of chaotic bargaining that stacks the cards against the buyer, we thanked them and went elsewhere. At Lassen, we explained our reason for wanting a final, "bottom line" price quote -- and we got one. We considered it fair, and the whole transaction took less than an hour.
We had first inspected the service facilities at Lassen, and considered them more than adequate for a dealership of that size. When we took delivery of the new camper, we anticipated we' d immediately have a list of items not caught in the manufacturer's or dealer's PDI. However that was not the case, and we did not have any significant service needs at the time of purchase. We subseuently had a few minor items to address, and we called for an appointment. We found the receptionist both helpful, and able to schedule an appointment for us on quite short notice -- something many RVers have come to value as extremely important. The work we've had done at Lassen has all been done on a timely and workmanlike basis, and we have no hesitation in recommending Lassen RV for both RV purchases and RV service needs.
